학교 소개
던디 대학교는 영국 스코틀랜드 던디에 있는 공립 종합 대학교입니다. 던디대학교는 섬유 제조업으로 부를 쌓았던 백스터 가문의 기부로 1881년에
던디유니버시티칼리지로 처음 세워졌습니다. 설립 초기에 세인트앤드루스대학교에 속해 있었지만 학교가 크게
확대됨에 따라 던디대학교는 1967년에 국왕 헌장을 받아 독립된 대학교 지위를 얻게 되었습니다.
던디대학교는 10개의
단과대학으로 이루어져 있으며 메인 캠퍼스는 던디의 웨스트엔드에 있고 이곳에 조던스톤덩컨 미술디자인대학과 던디 법과대학, 던디 치과병원과 대학 등 많은 강의실과 연구 시설이 있습니다. 던디대학교의
가장 우수한 분야는 생명과학과 의학분야입니다.
2016년 타임스의 세계대학평가에서 역사가 50년 미만인 대학 가운데 세계 16위, 영국 1위에 던디 대학교가 올랐으며 2015/16년과 2016/17년 연속으로 타임스 '좋은 대학 가이드'의 '올해의 스코틀랜드 대학교'로 선정되었습니다. 또한 2018년 타임스 분야별 세계 대학 평가에서 던디대학교의 생명과학 분야가 세계 55위에, 임상, 전임상, 건강 분야는 공동 86위에 올랐습니다. 2020년 영국의 세 개 주요 대학순위(CUG, 가디언, 타임스)에서 던디대학교의 치의학과 포렌식과학, 고고학, 법학, 의학은 영국의 상위 10위에 올랐습니다.
